I just recently have moved from the uk to holland to live with my girlfriend.
Previously i worked as a sales assistant bordering on superviser in a department store, but i am very interested in computers.
Since i have been in holland and applied for two possitions i have now the choice of which to choose from.
They are both possitions within a call center-answering calls, tech support etc.
I just cannot choose between which company to go for!

Company 1.

A young, already succesful company based about 30 min away via public transport.
Only 500+ employees but renowned in the world for its satalite navigation products.
In this company i would be answering calls from the general public regarding theyre satalite navigation products.

Salary €1.850 pm

Company is offering a great opputunity since it is young and vastly expanding.

I am not sure what else this company has to offer with regards to health insurance discounts, travel costs etc.

Company 2.

A famous, worldwide established company within the it sector providing networks and workstation support to buisness clients throughout the world.

In this company i would be recieving support calls from certain companies or busines's.

One hour or longer journey via public transport, inc 2 changes.

300.000+ Employees

Salary €1.900 pm

A company promissing to invest in collegues development providing they reach targets within the job-also with an online university to take technical/social courses on the internet.

A 6% discount on health insurance.

Travel paid for.

----------

Bear in mind i would enjoy working more with computers than satalite navagation products,-although having no previous experience i am unsure which would be more enjoyable for me.
I am scared if i choose job 1 because its a young company but with a more publicaly known name that the actual job will be more boring and it will be harder for me to shine.
Although because it is a young company i may be able to go further.

Job 2 would be more focussed on computers and would offer a big name if i was to move further into the I.T Sector, but job 1 is more of a publicly renowned company and would maybe look better on my cv.

Please help me choose betweens these jobs as i have to decide soon!

Are you kidding me? I'm the only one that voted and replied?

Well, I chose Company 1 because the jobs seem similar, but if you're moving there to be with your girlfriend that 1+ hour a day to and from work is going to get on your nerves. You'll be spending 2 or more hours a day in transit.

What was your end decision?

I'll choose the second job because you work in a large company and you have the opportunity to make a better carrer there than in the first company.I also believe that if you make some sacrifices like a longer journey to work etc these things will be "repaid" to you when you'll be promoted.

Anyway, it is sad that this guy posted the message in September and he didn't get a single reply or vote until December! Most likely he has already made the decision. I just wish he would return to let us know which one he made.

Thanks mod for regulating the forum.
