Most people will not take it easy in regards to any problem with their employee's imperative sense organs. In that case, What I will tell you is to go with all your strength in the early stage...Whatever small or good credential that you are having and follow it in a very soft tome about this weakness.. he should overlook it, if your other credential are ones that cannot be overlooked...

The job I am trying for requires dealing with heavy phones and not sure if I should say anything since I do wear hearing aids yet at the same time, if their phone doesn't offer volume control, I don't want to throw myself into a lose situation.

Thanks

Hi,

Firstly I am sorry about your recent misfortune, I have also been recently slightly handicapped and it is tough, especially in the beginning.

It depends on the job you are applying for or are currently working in.
Is hearing absolutely necessary to do this job ?

I would contact the local hearing loss community about this, they can help you with the legal and the career aspects of this.

What job are you doing at the moment ?

I'm not sure about the laws where you are, but it is likely that it is against the law to not provide reasonable accommodation. As long as you are able to perform and are currently performing, there shouldn't be a major issue.

Good luck!

I'm not falling for that bs line again about reasonable accommodations and the law.

I had a job before this one which lasted less than a month, did excellent work and when I told them after working there for over three weeks, that I am suffering from minor hearing loss, for which I did not need any accommodations since I answered their emails and did bookkeeping, well as for being honest, I learned my lesson, only to be let go by the end of the week without a reason and we both knew why.

After this happened, I was traumatized and never let go from a job before in my life, I did contact the department of labor, but was told that since I cannot prove why I was let go, I had no case and discrimination is hard to prove.

So then, I couldn't find work for almost two months, without any type of income, living on savings and have the job I have know, where my boss is a bully and an asshole but I have toughed it out because I have two kids that depend on me to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.

Which is why I'm looking for permanent full time work instead of part time without benefits 25 hours a week.

My silent disability shouldn't matter as long as I can perfom the job.

Thanks
