Hi. I was nice enough to give my employer 9 months notice that I would be moving away to another state. They thanked me began looking for my replacement, early. I'm told that they're going to "allow" me to train my replacement and then they're going to let me go, MONTHS before I was planning on actually leaving. Can I collect unemployment?

I think you gave them too much notice. Sometimes, you can be too nice to an employer and they dump on you. Which is what this sounds like. They might have even been looking for an opportunity to ditch you and this gave them the perfect opening. I would go ahead and file for unemployment, just to see what comes of it. You may also ask the next employer if they will need you sooner?

No, they tried to talk me into staying.

They just didn't want the inconvenience of having to cover my position for any length of time if I found a new job early.

It's nearly impossible for me to start a new job out of state early but I couldn't get them to believe that. We have a lease that's not up, a moving date planned and my wife is going to work up until that last day.
