I have no sales experience? Does this limit me from getting an interview?

You can still go, they may be looking for an entry level person to train and make into their next star performer. Just because you think you do not have relevant experience does not mean that you do not, you may have what they are looking for.

There are managers that hire new representatives out of college like you without one shred of sales experience. In fact, managers like candidates like you because you have not been corrupted by another selling model or some other company's way of selling or doing business. Managers want someone who is coachable, driven and wants to succeed. My book breaks down different scenarios of where you may be in the pecking order and tells you what to do in order to get your foot in the door.

I don't think it does - sales people - like anyone - have to start somewhere and if you're passionate enough and brave enough then I think a lot of companies will give you a shot.

Plus - I'm sure there are skills involved in sales that you've managed to obtain elsewhere like communication, customer service etc. Focus on these in the interview and application -whilst being honest- and I think you'll be fine.

Good luck!

Silver,

I was in sales for the past 18 Years and when I started, I don't have any experience. If you are passionate about it and very outgoing, they might give you a chance, maybe not the pay that you wanted but in sales, there's a lot of possibilities. Not to mention the freedom that your going to have instead of sitting in an office for 8 hours. I loved being in sales because I can control my time. Any idea what you want to sell?
