Hi, I applied to a company for an internship position. I had an initial phone screen, and it went very well. I got a call back about 3 weeks later, and called in for a 2nd round interview. See, this company is in NY and most of the applicants are from the surrounding area. Now, I live in CA. She said she has never gotten anyone from there, and is shocked that I applied.

I called her today to show my interest in the position. They are flying me out there soon. Now, he (the HR guy) gave me a brief synopsis of what I should expect:

Thursday: Fly in
Friday: start at 930AM, tours, dinner reception etc...
Saturday: Show apartment/house housing for interns, "have some time"

Now, he never said interview on Friday, but I'm assuming there will be some (obviously). Now, does this mean I am almost there (to getting the job???)... If he is flying me out from the other side of the country, mentions the apartments, etc... I have a very good chance right (assuming I do not mess up the visit somehow)?

Opinions???

They must seriously be considering you for employment or they would not be going to the cost to fly you there and keep you for a few days, so I think you should be feeling pretty good about your prospects right now Smile

Anytime you are asked for a second interview is a good sign. However, that does not mean the job is definitely yours. You will probably be part of a small group. This can be the most stressful type of interview, one that lasts for hours literally. Do your best and keep your cool...but I think everything will work out fine.
