Hello, I want to create a generic cover letter and change only the information about the company and job. I am foreign and I have no experience work in Ireland yet so I have included a paragrah to explain my situation. I have read a lot of cover letters but I would like to give my personal touch. My English is not good so I would to be grateful if you detect anything wrong. Of course, I also accept advices.

Your Name
Your Address
Your City, State, Zip Code
Your Phone Number
Your Email

(Date)

Name
Title Organization
Address
City, State, Zip Code

Dear Mr./Ms. ..... ,

I would like to be considered for the posted (...) as advertised in (.......), (date). My previous experience as a Web developer and many of my technical skills fit perfectly with the position. Please find enclosed a copy of my Curriculum Vitae.

I studied Computing Engineering at University of Madrid, Spain where I worked almost three years for high quality products. Now I am determined to carry on my professional career in Ireland and take a new challenge in one of most dynamic markets for the high tech industry.

I carried out several tasks in a great product using J2EE technologies having also gained a valuable insight into airline industry contributing in production/support departments. Continuously there were release updates, big work load and deadline dates with customers but work always got ahead in time. I have learnt that it is as important programming as the knowledge of the product which you are working in. (<-- The last phrase is a literal conversion in Spanish and I donīt know if you understand it)

All this time has given me experience in the development and implementation of Web applications. I have excellent communication skills and working effectively in a team. In addition, I consider myself as sociable, reliable and a little bit oddity but who is perfect?

Please do not hesitate to contact me on my mobile 000 112233 or email: xxx@msn.com. I look forward to hearing from you and would welcome the opportunity to attend an interview.

Yours sincerely,

[--END--]

If you want to see my CV, you can see it in the corresponding section in the forum.

Thanks in advance.

Be careful with generic letters. You can always use a macro, but the risk is getting lost in the detail, or including things from old letters.

Your English actually is quite all right, and the errors are minor, but this is business, so it's best to get it right.

Go to work on the English, try and get a good conversational level so your syntax and usage is up to doing interviews. In your line of work you can get a lot of technical stuff, so you need to have confidence in your English, too.

A few errors here. Delete bold, insert italics:

(Spanish syntax is differently constructed, below. I've reworded for English. Like the "odd personality" in the last paragraph, nice touch.)

Pauloz, thank you very much. At the moment I prefer to write a general cover letter because probably I will apply for a lot of offers but I suppose I will add some phases in specific companies.

Regards.
