| I saw this one company where all you do is send out post cards. You send them to get other people to join the company and when they join u get paid. And when one joins they pay a one time membership fee but the product they get is a mailing lists and some postcards. So the mailing list is the product. And the mailing list comes from brokers who have a list of other opportunity seekers that want to start a business. I guess a pyramid scheme is when there is no product and no distribution of money. But isn't it legal if you really are selling them a legit mailing list? How can I find out for sure? cuz just cuz someone here says trust me it's a scam, that doesn't mean anything. How can i find out the law and be 100 percent certain? |

Legal or not, it's likely to be about as exciting and remunerative as it sounds. Postcards? Mailing lists? You could be watching the grass grow, and paying for the privilege with your time and effort.
This is "fire and forget" marketing, or "trawling" if you prefer. If you put out a net, you'll probably catch something. Any indication of how, when and what you get paid?
Legally, if it's categorized as a Ponzi, pyramid or multilevel marketing scheme, it's illegal depending on Federal or state laws. However- not everything falls into a legal bracket. Sometimes a scheme is legal until there's a ruling saying it isn't.
You can check out with a local Better Business Bureau for legality. Just about everybody in the employment industry would tell you to save your time and get something that will definitely pay off rather than something that might pay sometime. |
