Hello,
I am really in need of a job, im 15, and live near Bristol.
I have one GCSE in Graphic products, wich I got one year early
I am expected many more - but I would prefer to get a job now-ish
I am not alowed to get a paper round, and have applied for a few jobs, with no luck!
any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks |

The problem with these jobs is that even if you get them, some of them pay terribly, and you don't earn much.
We've found that the best move for people your age is to go for jobs that will provide training and skills which make up for the very iffy pay by giving you job-getting skills down the track. Even the despised fast food jobs can do that, and you can start up a decent CV with those skills. Check out McDs, KFC, etc, just ring their central office and ask about training jobs. They'll know what's going on, and can tell you what's doable and what's not.
An alternative in this area would be local shops, which pay about as well as anyone, and you can pick up basic retail, admin, and back room job skills.
In your case, you've got another option, with that GSCE, because you could do some freelance work at home that might earn you some money. You can't do online work yet, but you could do paying jobs around your area, and build up a commercial portfolio while you're at it. |
