My job is very secure in this economic slump, yet the pay will not be sufficient for the every growing needs of a growing/maturing family of five. I am currently doing some writing on the side and working for a friend, but I know that true advancement both personal and for the lives of my children may be dependent on the ability to grow within my current field. Is there anyone out there who can relate? Any thoughts are welcome.
I'm a six year veteran for state of Colorado in the field of adult and youth corrections. I have had my hand in every aspect relative to working with criminal minds and mentally challenged from medical administration, residential management, safety/security and counseliing. Also, I have a college degree in journalism and international relations. When I met my wife, my life and career choices went through a major transformation. Teacher-writer-councilor/security officer.
I have entertained returning to college to get another degree in say nursing, yet that would potentially be more damaging to the economic security of the family. |
