|
|
I recently bumped into a job search site that asks the users for pre-payment for use.
I'm wondering if there are any users who've tried such systems.
I would hesitate to post any addresses here as I am under the slight suspicion that these guys are up to no good. But still who am I to juge, never actually used them.
I am calling on any job seekers who would like to share their mis/fortune which such sites.
A few things I think people would like to know:
1. Payments from companies on the site: any problems, and how good are the payment rates?
2. Job quality and flexibility.
3. What sort of commitments are required by users? (Time, skills, value of work relative to pay, etc)
4. "Testimonials" don't mean much without some backup information. The net is full of testimonials, all from someone in rural USA whose life has changed.
5. Employers come in all shapes and sizes, and levels of difficulty. Comments?
6. Is the service worth the payout? Making upfront payments for an unknown service, even when it looks like a good idea, isn't to everyone's taste. |

Personally, I try to refrain from such job sites as I think most of them are hokey and a scam. But who am I to judge? Once in a while there is something legitimate out there. Any more though, there's too much of arisk; and providing them with payment first does not mean that you will get anything from them. Some sites that allow you to use them and then pay them only after you have received your information but I still do not like teh sounds of this. There are no guarantees that anything you are provided is factual and will get you the results you want. I say, for safety's sake, just save your money and try more traditional research methods first.
