Hellozz!! This is Michell, a recent graduate in electrical engineering. I have recently shifted from Chicago to New York and I’m a bit nervous about finding a good job here. Plz inform me about this particular site, engineeringcrossing.com. The site was bragging a lot about itself, “we provide more engineering jobs than any other site”, blah… blah…blah…
Let me know if the site is worth registering. I badly need a good job!!

Most sites boast that kind of talk. If they are asking you to pay of provide ridiculous amounts of personal information then they are definitely not legitimate. I would think a good idea would be to pick out about 1/2 dozen sites plus use monster. And of course, network any contacts you may already have thru schooling, other work experience, or just acquaintances.

You might as well try some other offers when it comes to sites, and you might try some generally oriented ones, not specific. Lexa is right when saying that if tey ask too much, it may not be a good idea to register. Also, you might want to try different approaches to your job hunting process, in this way you could enlarge your chances of actually finding something suitable.
From my point of view, there's no use in registering or going for something which doesn't give enough information about a particular job. I'm even referring to companies which do not give all details about a specific post.

Hi! Welcome to New York! You should not worry about getting a job in New York. It’s full of opportunities. Just one thing I’m not sure about…if you will be able to get a job of your expectations.
I recently registered on engineeringcrossing and have applied to various jobs. My fingers are crossed. However, I’m regularly receiving job alerts and weekly newsletters that keep me informed on latest developments in the engineering sector. I think the site is helping me. Now you decide for yourself, if you wanna give it a try.
