You need an entry level job, either an internship or a basic IT job, to get moving with this.
Searched your degree on SEEK, (Bachelor+computer) came up with this: Not too flash, but as you can see, you're qualified;

On the other hand, it is Google Enterprises... worth a call, anyway.
There really aren't a lot of jobs around, so you'll need to approach preferred employers and do some cold canvassing about entry level jobs. This may not find a job immediately, but it will get you a lot of free information, and you'll know how to approach these employers when jobs come up.
Do a bit of forward planning, before you do anything.
Figure out where you want to go with that degree, and how you get there. It's usually safer not to be roaming the job market blindly, because you can miss opportunities. At this stage of your career, "progress" is the main target.
This Google gig, for example, would give a lot of direct internal info and contracts for other Google jobs, and build up a pretty decent CV in a hurry. You can also check out project work, because most projects have a long logistics tail which isn't in the main view of job hunters, and usually goes through agencies.
Recruiters specializing in IT are another angle, but might take some finding. If, while checking out the job ads, you see anybody who's a serial poster of IT and computer jobs, ring up and check, see if they can do placements for you. Ring a few recruitment agencies anyway, see what they can and can't do, they might know somebody who can help. |
