While in college I had a 3 year internship with Agency A. I would have loved to have continued working for them but after I graduated they were experiencing a hiring freeze.
I took a job with Agency B, but I do not like my position at all! It is not challenging and I am a very busy person. Plus the commute to/from work is approx. 3 hours daily.

Here is my problem:
Agency A's hiring freeze was recently lifted. I applied for a position with them that is only 10 minutes from my house (I have an interview set up for next week). The position is great, the location is great, and the agency is great.

but...

Out of the blue yesterday Agency B offered to move me to a much better position in their other office only 10 minutes from my house. The only stipulation is I would have to stay at my current position for 3 months while they find someone else and I train them. I was in shock so I said “yes”.

What should I do? I feel like I owe it to Agency B to stay because I agreed to the terms but I would rather have the job at Agency A! They are both government pay scales so the pay is exactly the same and the promotion potential is the same.

Any advice would be great!

Yipes. Since everything seems to be exactly the same, I would go to the palce where you think you will be happier. But, since you are switching offices, you may find that your current employer is not so bad after all and that many reasons for your dissatisfaction has to do with those around you or working conditions.
