I am looking for a career that I can train on the job for/get paid for training. I don't mind hard work & studying hard & challenging myself if I know that at the end of it, I am going to come out of it qualified to actually do a specific job.

I am looking into becoming an air traffic controller. The initial training is at a college in the south of England (on a 10k salary), then you are posted to a control centre to for a year or so (on a slightly higher salary) until you get your full licence (when again your salary increases).

This is the kind of thing I am looking for. I am needing help with ideas of other careers that work this way with training - any ideas???

I'm 21, healthy & have good Standard Grades & Highers.

Can't think of anything specific, but lots are wiling to keep your training updated as you go, like IT....maybe ask your local college about something like this? Their career center should be able to help you along with a question like this.

Maybe some type of government-based job might also be an option???
