I have a problem that I need an answer for. I was involved in a domestic violence relationship. During those years, I my abuser and I owned our own very successful restoration business. Now, I have moved to another state. I do not want anyone knowing where i live. I have three references, but they will only allow themselves to be contacted by e-mail. HELP! I have a ton of experience but am working for minimum wage at a temp agency because of this. |

So...bottomline....DO you or DON'T you have those three references? Cause you write the title like "no reference" and in the content you say you have three of them.
So what if they are allowing only e-mail form of contact? That's very good. No one will know where you are now, right? At least they cannot point straight towards you, you're safe.
Or is it that you live in a place where the internet is not available...? I STRONGLY DOUBT THAT.
If you have a ton of experience and three references, I don't see where the problem is. Your experience will be backed up by the references and as soon as you get an interview uyou practically got the job.
Make me understand otherwise if I'm wrong in undeerstanding... |

Gracious, safri, how about a little compassion?
Email references should suffice for most employment situations. If they happen to require more, then go to church, volunteer somewhere and/or do whatever it takes to get those three references locally.
Is there anyone you are still in contact with (from before the abusive relationship) that could vouch for you?

Oh....I didn't mean to be rude or something...I just don't understand why smwinchester cannot use those three references she has, especially that they can be contacted via e-mail....so no need to share the present address. I was just trying to tell her she has nothing to be afraid of from this point of view.
It's like you've said it....e-mail should be enough for any prospective employer. It takes time to build other three references, even if through volunteering they can be achieved easily.
Anyway, she knows better. I'm sorry if I sounded rude or anything |
