Hello,

I worked for a company in NJ for 5 years, then left in March 09 to work for a company in PA. I was terminated in July 09 and filed for PA unemployment. PA denied me based on their eligibility requirement (amount earned in the 1st four of the last 5 quarters) that only recognized what I earned in the month of March 09 in PA. My pay from April through July is not recognized for consideration of eligibility, so I am not eligible for benefits in PA.

Now when I first tried to file in NJ - I see that it says I must have worked in NJ for the past 18 months to file online. Perhaps that is to keep the online process free of messy situations like mine. I plan to continue to pursue both NJ & PA for UC benefits.

What do you think will happen in my case?

Thanks for your time.

PA sent me a denial letter initially - which concerned me. When I called them, it was explained to me that they were waiting for employment info from the State of NJ. Once received, my application will be reviewed again - and likely approved. Maybe this post will help someone else in a similar situation. Thanks.
