|
|
Thank you ahead of time for any critique, help or suggestions.
Also a few questions:
1. I do not have a college degree, Ive seen 1 resume example that listed a High School diploma, is this the norm? or even recommended?
2.As most job advertisments are asking to just email resume, I have resume set up in text format to include in body of emails versus sending as an
attachment.
Is this the normal procedure for most people?
Any other disadvantages to this other than cant show any fancy fonts or bolds, etc.
3. Would resume look better in paragraph format versus bullet point as I have now?
4.I'm using a @hotmail.com email address on resume, is that considered UN-professional?

Hmm....I don't like it, almost at all, as it doesn't seem thoroughly conceived to me. I mean your phrases are extremely short and lack details. Not that an employer is interesed in too many things, but what you have placed in your resume can easily be taken as "generally valuable" ideas.
Also, you lack areas like: resume career objective, relevant skills, foundation skills, education and some others.
With regards to your question concerning your degree....I, for example, list my high school and uni diploma and, as soon as I finish my masters, I will list that too. The thing is that if you have a high school diploma, mention it, because it is important...maybe your highschool had some profile you can use.
Second question...about the resume sent via email. It doesn't matter what address you have as long as it is functionable. You can check this yourself by sending an email towards yourself of towards another type of account, like yahoo. Another thing....it is advisable that you make the resume the body of the email, for technical considerents. But you can try PDF format as well...even if you cannot be sure all employers have got Adobe Reader....so stick to the body I would say...
Do take my advice and check this resume format as it will help you a lot:

I am continually stunned by the lack of kindness and compassion with which you often respond, lilo.
Stifler,
Your resume could benefit from the use of power verbs to enhance the information you have presented. If you have any achievements or accomplishments, weave them into your work experience section. Since the dates of your employment are not lengthy (the most recent ones), consider listing the dates last, perhaps even after your job responsibilities. Keep the tense the same in all statements. For instance, if you say "prepared", then all phrases should be past tense. Do not interchange tenses.
I would avoid using a hotmail account. It is not especially professional. There are a number of free internet services that provide a wide-range of accounts that you can use which appear to be more professional.
I hope this helps. If you want to make changes, re-post and I'll have another look at it.
