Forgot My Signature on Post-Interview Thank You Letter

Oh boy....I had an interview late Friday for a company I would really love to work for. The interview seemed to go very well, and I received positive feedback. I went home and wrote my thank you letter. I even proofread it several times, looking for spelling and/or grammar errors, but found none. I feel like such an idiot because I totally missed this......I forgot to sign my name to the cover letter!!!! Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I cannot believe I did this, especially since everything went well and I really want to work there. Of course I realized this sometime yesterday, but it was too late. I had already dropped my letter off at the post office.

Now I feel dreadful. I feel like this could result in the company dismissing me from consideration. I don't believe this. Is there anything I can do about this? Do you think I should write another letter or maybe call them? Does anyone have any advice? I would greatly appreciate it!

This is one of the most common of all situations. Every human being on Earth has done it, and for the record, it's unlikely to have much impact on the interview recommendation. Unless you're being hired specifically to sign letters, it's not really much of an issue, just an infuriating sidelight.

Leave it alone. There's nothing to be gained by pointing out a mistake, particularly a relatively trivial one. Actually quite a lot of people send letter without original signatures, and it's considered more or less normal.

Really, they would have made up their minds on the same day. The recommendation should have been written before they received the letter.

I'm agree, you have to leave it. Since you already submitted your files with them. But you have to ready yourself for whatever happen. They might reject your application or they might accept it. Hope they will accept it. Because leaving blank on your signature is meant something. It seems that it is a proof that all the stated in your resume was not true and correct because you haven't sign it. So this is a lesson. Next time you have to make sure that all things are ok before leaving. Wish you luck.
