Teacher needing a new direction

Hello,

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Education. When I graduated here in Canada I decided to travel abroad and find work teaching. I taught for 7 years abroad in foreign public school programs. Now I am home and there are no teaching vacancies available here. Even if I get on a supply list I will likely do at least 5 years of substitution before I get a full time job, if I ever do.

I need a career change and I can't really afford to go back to school. I fear most employers look at my resume and just have no idea what to do with it and just end up tossing it, since my work experience is almost entirely in teaching and all my references are overseas.

Please help.
