Please help! write a cover letter to former peer now boss

    I'm in the U.S!

I'm struggling to write a cover letter! I'm applying for work at a job I used to work at, left on good terms, had many friends there. One very nice person I enjoyed working with as a peer is now the manager. I am struggling as to how to write a CL and make it personable without being too friendly nor too cold and professional.
Any ideas? Please!! Gotta send it asap!!!

Make your cover letter concise. You should start by writing down your skills, previous experience and achievements. Also, keep your cover letter conversational and simple. Then talk to the manager, bring back the old times since you were co-worker for some time but still remain formal with your conversation.
