How to prepare before an interview for job

Every unemployed and employed looking for new job opportunities want to fulfill their dream and get the job they always want. The job market is and always will be very competitive, so getting a chance for an interview for job is not as easy as many wish it is. Well, the way to get a job interview is not as hard as it looks like you just have to know how to do it properly. Here's the secret that will get you ahead of the competitors.

What types of job interviews to expect
Taking part in a job interview where you are the person who has to answer tricky questions is very unfair. You never know what to expect or what kind of questions they are going to throw at you. What you can prepare for is to know the types of job interview techniques that are out there which hiring managers use all the time. So here are the list job interview techniques you should be aware of.

First off is the screening process which is usually done in a telephone interview or in person. It's usually the hiring manager from the human resources department or the job agency who do this. Usually this type of interview is just to verify what you have written in your resume and ask any questions about it if it's needed.

Next is the selection type which is usually the second part of the process. In this part you have passed the qualifications the company is looking for, but they want to have a talk with you in person to see you fit their profile and that you can be a part of their team. This is the time to prepare yourself and give a outstanding performance.

Group interview is probably the most nerve wrecking since you will be competing with other applicants face to face. The purpose about this job interview technique is to find out which category you fit best into: manager skills, follower or team player. Be yourself as it is appropriate so the hiring managers can determine which category to place you in.

There will be a panel of interviewers who will be asking questions to one applicant at the time. It can be a scary at first but be calm and focus and you will have better chances of getting the job.

What you should prepare for the job interview
For any type of job interview no matter it is a group or individual type of interview there are always some general preparation you should do before you come to interview for job.

First thing you should study is the company. Look at their website, search for the company on Google and see if you can find some articles about it, Do they have a financial report available for public? Are they on the stock market? If they do then this is very valuable information you should study. This will not only show that you are fully prepared for the meeting, but also that you are a fully knowledgeable and intellectual person.

Second you should study yourself as well, make a list of all you strength and weaknesses. This is very important because the interview is basically about they learning to know you. Also mention your work experience and your talents and latent talents your future company will need from you. Don't forget you education, special interests or hobbies that can show hidden abilities you might not have thought of. Write everything down and practice the questions and answers with someone you know.

The best way to do this is to let them act as the interviewer and you can practice answering the questions over and over. You can also switch position and you can be the interviewer, that way you will see the interview from a different angle. Also practice your body language, speaking clearly and have eye contact. Sit in front of a mirror and practice these things, even record on tape your answers and you will hear your answers. You will be amazed how different it sounds.

Last but not least you should plan what you a re going to wear on the interview for job. Like it or not you will be judged on the first impression, it's just how we humans make decisions if they like the person or not. Have a good hygiene and think of what you are going to wear from head to foot.
No matter how nervous you are make sure you are as relaxed as possible and give yourself some time to think before you deliver the answers. But keep your body language firm, do not slough, cross your arms or avoid eye contact. Be open and show confidence and you will see get the job you always wanted.

Very informative. Just to add up. We also need to set our mind with unexpected question. Some said expect the unexpected. Well that's true. We need to be alert and fast thinker so that when you receive a question which is out of the topic you can easily look for an immediate answer. So be alert and fast thinker.
