Great qualifications, but no IT job

I have outstanding qualifications, but still no job. I have a B.A. and an M.S. in Management Information Systems from USF. My GPA in undergrad was 3.5, and in grad school was 3.9. I was also Vice President of the MIS Society. In addition, I have like 25 computer certifications- six in Comp/TIA, CWNA, CIW, Office Master, and a bunch of Microsoft certs, equivalent to MCSA. I’ve ran my own computer service for nine years, but that’s just a few hours a week; I need something full time. I’ve been out of school for two years, and I’ve only had one tech support job that paid $14/hr. I’ve heard that average starting salary for MIS majors is like $45K. For someone with a Master’s and my qualifications, it should be much more. Yet, I’ve seen nothing close to that. What am I doing wrong? I’ve been getting 2-3 interviews a month, but no offers so far. I send out resumes on seven leading job sites. I live in Tampa, FL; maybe it’s a bad area, but I can’t afford to move. Right now, I’m delivering pizza, which is menial, low paying work, that has destroyed my car. My goal is to be a network administrator and I need to get my career back on track. Where are these great-paying IT jobs, and why can’t I get them? Your advice is appreciated…

    Hi Spirit,

Perhaps it's worth reviewing your CV? Feel free to post it here if you'd like advice! On the other hand you mention you're landing interviews - how do you think they're going?

Look forward to hearing from you. : )

Its not what you know but who you know.
it`s probably who they know! and if your face fits! but yeah, i know what you mean. some of us work our buts off and get nowhere, where others sit on their back side and get everything dropped into their lap!
They practice for 1st impressions(a.k.a. BS if unqualified). Sadly, 1st impressions seem to be mostly all you get in life, and few 2nds.
