    Job Application Follow Up Email

This position is a international internship in Japan posted in my university. I submitted my application documents to HR. I received a confirmation email saying that they forwarded the documents to related departments (accounting / finance), and it will take 6 to 8 weeks to process the application.

    It is now week 7.

Should I send a follow up letter confirming my status? Or should I wait for their reply until week 8 has passed and fire them an email?

Is there any good examples of job application follow up emails that I can use?

    Thank you!

    Regards.

    Hi Shino,

Personally, I would wait until the beginning of week 9 to fire them an email, since they're still right within their window of when they told you they'd process your application.

For your job application follow up email, you could try modifying this cover letter expressing interest.

I would break the (short) paragraphs up similar to this:
    1) Paragraph that thanks them for considering your job application and expresses your continued interest in the position
    2) Paragraph that explains why you're interested in this position. Include a sentence or two that demonstrates your knowledge of the company.
    3) Paragraph that succinctly explains why you're a great candidate for this position and what skills/experience you would bring to the position
    4) Paragraph/Sentence thanking them again for considering your job application. Include your contact information (phone number and email) and finish with something like 'I look forward to hearing from you.'

Would it be necessary to include my resume and relevant certificates?

You could, although it isn't necessary. To avoid making it seem like you're applying for the position, make sure it's clear you are inquiring about the status of your application.
