Question Foreign address on my CV

    Hi everyone,

I am currently living in Spain but looking to move back to the UK. I am job hunting in the UK but my address and contact number on my CV are Spanish. Do you think this will be detrimental to my application? Should I put a UK address (my mum's)? Any advice would be much appreciated, I don't want to keep putting all this effort into my applications only to know they don't make it past the first few lines of my CV.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi b_jane,

If for whatever reason you are sending your CV without a cover letter that can explain your Spanish address, then, yes, it might be a good idea to list your UK address.

Another option is to list your Spanish address, and to explain in your objective that you are seeking to move back to the UK.

Yet another option is to list your UK address as a permanent one, and to also list your Spanish address in "Additional Information" as your current one.

The job listing text may help you make your decision as to what to do. A job listing that says, "Locals only" would mandate listing a UK address. Good luck!

Thanks CleeIB, good advice, I'll use my cover letter to explain and potentially list my UK address as my permanent one with the Spanish one as a temporary one. All so complicated, hehe! Thanks again!
