Change career but criminal record

Hi I was convicted of an offence 10 years ago, the offence was dishonesty, retaining a wrongful credit. I would really like to pursue a career in professional accountancy and would like to know if this option is no longer viable due to my conviction.

mr_m - You should ask your local CPA society or association, as standards may vary by location. In general, employers consider criminal records given all the facts (time elapsed since crime, relationship of crime to profession, etc.). I could see retaining a wrongful credit being related to the fiduciary duties of an accountant, but, again, you should ask your local CPA society or association.
