Should Cover letter & CV/Resume be in same file?

If sending Cover letters, Cvs off to company by email, should these two be in same file? or keep them apart in seperate files?

    Thanks

I typically separate mine, just to minimize bulk. Often electronic boards do not give the option and require them as two separate documents. I guess it is really your choice, but I think most people tend to do them as two separate documents?

They need to be separate. In an email you can attach many files to the same email. Both cover letters and Cvs are two different worlds and should be treated as so.

You also want a prospective employer to see as much of you as possible, they will if interested want to know as much about you as possible. Do not be afraid to be as detailed as possible either.
