Need help after interview to follow-up

    Hi,
I got an interview in last week of Dec. 2008. The employer told me that the interview was successful and he will get back to me within couple of days with a job offer. Until now, he didn't get back to me with anything. My point here is, if the interview wasn't that good then I'll not keep it in mind and I'll ignore it. But, the interview was so good and he said that he'll send me an offer within couple of days on my email but he didn't. So, should I call him back or send him a reminder or just wait? Please help me with your advices that will not effect negatively on my image as job seeker.

    Thank you guys.

Typically after an interview it is always a good idea to send an interview thank you note. This is a polite way of thanking them for their time, but also a way of getting your name across their desk one more time. I would still quickly send one, as it shows you are still interested. Or at least call and inquire. But odds are if it has been this long, they most likely have already filled the position.

Many thanks lexa. Your reply helped me a lot. May be I did a mistake when I didn't send a thank you letter, I should send it at that time. Thank you again lexa.

Right. He lied. It's what they do best.

If you do follow-up after being treated this and if this guy hires you, ask yourself if you really want to work for someone who's not as good as his word. I.E., if he's treated you this badly before hiring you, what do you think you can expect afterwards?

I'm curious why he still needs to wait for a couple of days to give you a job offer if his intention is to give the position to you? I dont want to say this but i think the interviewer was still not sure if you were the right person to hire. However, try to contact him and ask him about your status. this will help you ease your mind. at least you would know if you will still wait for him to contact you or not.

Also, it will be a nice idea that you would continue to explore other companies and job position while you wait for a job offer.
