I got laid-off in summer with a severance package so had to wait for UC. I took a job for less than 30 days afterward and was commuting for 3 hours daily and couldn't handle it. I spoke to 2 separate people at UC and one said that is unsuitable employment and could use it as a quit trial and go to requalify. Another person said that since my job is highly specialized I have to commute to wherever the job is. I don't believe I can sell my home anytime soon so I need to requalify.
But how do I explain that brief employment? |

| Explain it just as you did here: you took a job and tried to make it work, but the lengthy daily commute was more than you could handle. There's really not much more to it than that, is there? Your best option is to be honest. You are right though, the commute sounds killer and I don't blame you for your decision. |
