Hai everybody,
I am leopold (newbie) here. I like to say hi... and hello.... to everyone of this forum.
I would like to say something about the unemployment insurance.
Unemployment insurance
In addition to helping workers and their families, the Unemployment Insurance programs play a key role in helping businesses, communities, and the nation's economy. It was created in 1935 in response to the Great Depression, when millions of people lost jobs. They couldn't buy goods and services, which contributed to more layoffs. Now, as then, the program helps cushion the impact of economic downturns and brings economic stability to communities, states, and the nation by providing temporary income support for laid off workers.
Thank u for giving me an opportunity to discuss |

Thank you for the information, Leopold. Most people do not know the reasons for unemployment or its origins. It is too easy to get confused simply by the idea of it and how to get it to truly understand it. It was/is a greta idea but the government makes it so complicated to figure out that sometimes those who truly need help go without it. And that is unfortunate.

Good info - but currently the main purpose for Unemployment Insurance is more of a judicial solution that a socio-economic one. In just about every US State, you are prohibited from filing and action for wrongful termination (except under very, very limited situations). As such, the employee's only recourse is file for Unemployment Benefits until such time as that employee become reattached to the workforce.
For the past 16 years my office has represented thousands of employers and employees (claimants) at unemployment hearings and appeals - each situation is unique but always involves the tension and conflict between the out-of-work employee and the employer's need to maintain control of the workers. |
