I am currently employed, but have been asked to come back to a company that fired me 3 months ago. The person that fired me 3 months ago was fired for what she did to me and other issues with performance. This job would be at the corporate level whereas it wasn't before. My Boss now would be someone that I know well and respect very much. I would be working with people that I have worked with in the past at other jobs that I have had and we get along very well. Money would be about the same and commute a bit less.
The job that I am at now is OK. They are having some financial trouble and I am worried about job security and there is really not enough work to do. I would say in a 40 hour week I spend at 8-10 hours looking for something to do or playing on the internet. When I was hired I was told that I would be doing one thing and now I am doing something else and was not notified that they had decided to change my title and job functions. People are not very friendly but then again it takes some time to be brought into the cliques and groups at workplaces.
I have had a lot of jobs in my career and am really tired of moving around but I seem to get myself into situations like this with every job that I take. Should I take the job with my old company? Stick it out with the new one? Confrunt the new employers and tell them there is nothing to do? HELP!!! |

It sounds like you have already decided what you'd like to do. You want to go back to your old job.
In my opinion, for whatever it is worth, it sounds like it is probably the best thing to do in this situation. You will feel more comfortable there and have less of a commute. Plus, the job security with your old company seems to be much better.
Whatever your choice, just do your best.
Good luck.
