Hi I am 20 years old. In 2002 i started working part time in a hairdressers, on saturdays and whilst on my school hoildays. Whilst here i learnt how to do most things with help from all the staff. The only thing they couldnt teach me was how to cut. In 2003 i went on to College to get the qualifications a needed to become a hairdresser as i really enjoyed this job. I completed my level 1 NVQ Hairdressing in 2004 at Southport college. When i returned back after the summer holidays my locker had been broken into and my kit had been stolen. I was told i would have to pay another four hundred pound for a new kit as i didnt have anything left. The government did not fund me this year so i could not afford to do so so i had to drop out.
Since then i have regretted this ever since even though it was no fault of my own. I have been in and out of temparary jobs and cant seem to settle down. Hairdressing is the only thing i have ever enjoyed and i know i am good at what i do. I have applied to inhouse training salons in Liverpool but all say i am too old as i am 20. I cant afford to go to a full time college as i will not get paid for it.

Does anyone know anywhere that i can go? I have applied for micheal john and they are just not getting back to me. i keep phoning but the girl is never there that i need to speak to. I have applied to tony and guy but they just said they will get back to me by mail. I am ment to be starting hugh baird college night school on monday but i also need a job to fit around them hours too and its just too hard to find!!!! This really is my dream job and would love someone to take me on. I am really good at what i do as i had extar training whilst in the hairdressers, i just need someone to give me a chance to show them.

Thanks
becky

Apply at lots of different places that have to do with hair design, not just one. You might see if the beauty school you attended can offer any employment help or advice. Other options include looking at a broader scope, including spas, resorts, and cruise ships, or anything that has t do with beauty. Good luck and I hope it works out.
