This is our piece by Pauloz on Australia.

http://www.cvtips.com/immigration/australia.html

Please note: This piece is quite recent, and we got some help from the Australian Department of Immigration with current info at the time, last year, but you must always check to make sure your information is up to date, because of changes in regulations over time.

This will take you through the basics, but you should know that due to the recession Australia has reduced its intake to 110,000 places per year for skilled workers.

Sponsorship will involve contact with employers, in preference to other forms.

These are a couple of Australian job sites which might help, and let you get a look at the local job market.

SEEK: http://www.seek.com.au/
CareerOne: http://www.careerone.com.au/

You might also want to check out government jobs. These jobs have a relatively high natural turnover, and the process of employment is all done by the book, quite formal. With a government agency as a sponsor, you shouldn't have much trouble.

This is the Australian Public Service site: http://www.apsjobs.gov.au/

Suggest you also do a bit of research about how to apply and what's required from the Australian High Commission in India. It's very important to get the paperwork and the bureaucratic stuff done properly. It saves time and effort, and a lot of patience.
