A good cover letter can go a long way in landing you a job interview. If you know what to include in your cover letter, you will definitely increase your odds of obtaining an interview. Remember, the main point of a cover letter is to let the hiring manager learn more about you and your personality.

The cover letter is your initial introduction to a company. You need to write clearly and effectively, and make sure that your letter sets you apart from all of the other applicants.

Check out the links below to our sample cover letters. These letters are a great jumping off point for several common job situations.

yes I agree this is fanstastic information. It's given me some great ideas about what to write, sometimes I don't know where to start. Confused

One thing might be worth saying here is, I heard that it's good to slightly change it around a bit, especially if you're applying for a job at a big company - HR people have probably seen hundreds of cover letters and can spot a copy'n'paste job straight away. Probably if you're applying at a small place it's not so much of a problem Cool

great to also include in your Cover Letter why you believe you are best person for the Job advertise, however you don't want to rehearse what is already in your CV or Resume.

Hi admin, great sources!

James, a cover letter should be personalized in the content but it can remain the same in what the structure is concerned. I mean HR people do see cover letter everyday and the probably see the same letter 100 times in a day, but they are also busy and may be more comfortable with the fixed structure.
