Today I heard about the great news about the launch of the further diplomas that will be available to students this year. After a recent thread I posted about vocational courses I think most agreed that vocational courses can be suitable for those who are less academic and more focused on obtaining hands on training for future jobs.

The BBC announced that the diplomas have been such a success; the other subjects will widen the choice available from things such as hair and beauty to environmental studies. Plus many university institutions have commented that they would consider candidates in the future who have diplomas should they wish to move in a more academic direction in the future.

As a recruiter I imagine that it will take some time for the diplomas to start coming through on CV’s but it will be good to see a CV example displaying the benefits of having a diploma.

Out of interest are there any job seekers who have completed the new diploma and what subjects you have covered in your course and how you feel it has benefitted you?
