Hi, i really need your advise because I am a litle lost.

Like a month ago I apply for a job at an IT company and they call me back in a few days and set up a job interview but I couldn make it (already had another interview with another company), so I sent an email apologizing for this and they told me that it was ok and if i wanted to set up another interview in the future just give them a call.

I never called back, but a few weeks later they call me back and this time I went to the job interview, I talk to th HR guy and the job turned out to be more interesting that what I anticipated.

Just before the interview was over, he told me that he wanted to set up another interview with the area manager and my the person who would be my boss. Like two hours later, he called me at my cell phone and we set up the interview for 2 days later.

I went for the interview to the same building and talked to the area manager and the other guy (my future boss), they asked me multiple questions (experience, studies, etc) and I think it went pretty well. This interview was on thursday, the next monday they called me again to go to run some tests (iq, etc). Went there and performed all the required tests.

A week later I still had no feedback from them and started to get really worried about it, so I emailed the HR guy and asked very politely about the status of my job application. He didnt answer back, so the next day I called and try to speak with him but he was not available. The following day he sent me an email telling me that he had send all my info and the test results to the area manager so he can decide if they hire me or not. Also told me that he will "let me know when he gets further info"

It´s been 10 days since the tests and 2 days after the HR guy email, do you think they are still deciding?? or he just told me that so I dont bother them any more???

Also it's strange that the job offer has been on job's search pages for a long time (like a month) and is still being publish every day!!!

Hope you can help me with this!

Jony

Hi Jony,

The truth is probably that they have several people going through the interview process like you right now and they are trying to figure out who would be the right fit. They probably will not take the job posting down until someone is hired for the position.

Have you sent a follow-up (thank you) letter to each of the people you interviewed with? That may be a start...once you send the letter out and wait a couple of days call them again to check up on the progress (assuming they haven't called you first).

This can be a frustrating situation but just remember, they are interviewing several people and this can be time consuming.

All the luck to you! Hope you get the job!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, thank you for your reply.
It's been 3 weeks since the first interview and I dont really expect them to call me.
Anyway two other companies called me, had one interview yesterday and a phone call from another to ask me a few questions and say they will call me again to set up an interview.
But, what frustrates me is that I invested a lot of time with this company (2 interviews and other interview with tests), so I think at least I deserve a phone call or an email telling me that I was no picked.
I will wait a until next week and then I will call and tell them all this.

thanx;

Jony
