Sorry, this is too verbose, 868 words. Try to cut it down to about 500 words, roughly one and a half pages, max. As a writer, I can tell you, be absolutely ruthless in the first draft.
You need a different structure. The way this is organized, it takes a while to get to your qualifications and basic skill sets.
Try this structure:
Objectives Career objective stated clearly, like "Management Design", or a definite career goal. This is motivational information, and tells employers why you're applying for particular jobs.
Skills (Stick to relevant IT skills, or skills targeted to applications)
You can actually list skills, like "Leadership, CAD design, supervision, innovation,"etc. and back them up with your details and your cover letter.
Work history ( real problem area, see below)
Education (see below)
References (see below)
Information quality:
The trouble with this amount of material is that it's a bit confusing, even if you've got things grouped properly. It took me two pages to get to your important skills and qualifications.
Existing info, by sections:
Profile: The expression is very good, but don't include this section until you've got an actual word count for the rest of the resume. At this stage we need to get the document to a functional size. Edit around that basic 500 word objective.
Education:
These are the real core elements:
Computer Aided Design, Creative Modelling, Design in Business, Engineering Fundamentals, Market Led Enterprises, Materials and Manufacture, Powertrain Design Vehicle Engineering and Visual Engineering
Unless you're actually targeting vehicle design in a specific job application, you don't need to include much more than the basics. If they need to know about vehicle design, you've got that when you need it.
Employment history:
Not good, and not relevant to your qualifications. Suggest you use the last two jobs as "temp" positions in any application, because of short time frames and nothing later than 2007.
You will need to go for entry level positions in relation to your qualifications. Try to get an internship or other work related experience.
Other details
Language skills:
Punjabi and Hindi are both very good, extremely useful languages to have in this field. Should be emphasized, when dealing with multinationals in CAD areas. This is actually a related skill, put it in the skills area.
Interests:
Too much info. Try to boil it down to something like Skills, just names of interests.
General writing guide
Your qualifications are very good, your range of skills is very good. But all the extra info distracts from, and hides, these very important points.
The employer must see clearly what you have and what you can do.
The missing element here is actual work experience. When you've got that, you'll have all you need to get a job.
Please do feel free to come back to us with your draft, and/or any questions. You've got a very demanding career track here, and you'll find the fine tuning is the tough bit. |
