hi. I am a college senior and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of as to how to get into writing for tv or films. I've read a few books and articles and most people suggest just sending scripts to tv shows in hopes of getting a job. I'm wondering if there is a way I could get a job with any tv show (sitcom preferably) without trying to create my own. any suggestions?

You seem to be very little informed on the TV industry issue. If you want to work in this domain, there's not only scripts which you can do. There are so many other things. See here:

But I believe you first have to make a choice or at least limit your area of interest in order to direct yourself towards something productively.

Getting help from a recruiter or school counselor on this job search could be a good idea. If you can find an internship now, either paid or unpaid, it is a good way to get your foot in the door and get started even if you aren't making money. Internships can often turn into job offers if you do well. Otherwise, applying directly to companies in places like LA or NYC areas are a must so start searching. Good luck!
