Workers in this casino job must monitor the inside and outside areas through surveillance systems in a closed room. They watch the actions of players, workers and casino visitors through hidden cameras stationed around the casino. The surveillance personnel are in constant connection with the security personnel on the floor and inform them of any unusual objects, suspicious actions or potential problems. The surveillance personnel also scan and document cash movement, the maintenance of the slot machines, and entrance to secure areas.

The surveillance personnel need excellent knowledge of the games procedures, must have the ability to think on their feet, good interpersonal communication abilities, and should be able to deal with difficult customers. Previous experience in security or surveillance related work is essential, although the casino job is an entry-level job. The starting salary is normally between $8 and $12 an hour.
