Iowa Unemployment Benefits

You will need to have the following information ready before contacting and filing a claim:

    • 1. Your social security number/ alien registration number if you are an US citizen
    • 2. Information about your past employer(s) (name, address, phone numbers, etc)
    • 3. ADD-214 (member 4) if you served in the military in the last 18 months
    • 4. SF-8 form if you worked in the federal government in the last 18 months
    • 5. The name(s) of anyone dependent on you, upto four people

    The claim will be processed from the Sunday of the week you have the claim. In order to continue receiving the benefits you must file information weekly as per the claim forms ask of you.     • 1. The highest opportunities you will find in the area of Truck and Heavy and Trailer Drivers with a demand of 1350 jobs annually. You will need to have a moderate amount of on-the-job experience for this type of job.

    All said and done, you may not be able to go directly and apply even if you have the data for these jobs. So, you will need to immediately take a few measures in order to secure a job in the shortest possible time period so as to restore your peace of mind and financial solubility:

    • 1. Enroll with a few leading placement agencies in the area; prefer those which specialize in local job rather than outside if you need employment in Iowa itself
    • 2. Run a small classified in your local community paper
    • 3. Place 'wanted' ads all over the public notice boards
