In order to avoid that, try to identify what causes the distraction and remove it from the background. It can be the dog, the children or the call waiting function.
Just make sure you are alone in the room while taking the job interview, because a smooth flow of the phone conversation is essential for a successful interview.
Prepare a pen and paper, because the employer might give you some important details or contact information you will use later on.
