Disabled workers A person is categorized as "disabled" by law. It requires medical certification of the health situation causing the disabilities. Disabled workers are legally entitled to special employment conditions recognizing the reasonable requirements of their disability in the workplace. (A wheelchair-bound person is entitled to ramps for access, parking, etc, by law) Disabled workers are also covered by Anti Discrimination law and Equal Employment Opportunity rules, and have the same rights in the workplace as anyone. The only possible exceptions are where their disability prevents their performance of certain duties, or where it would be unreasonable to expect them to perform certain tasks. |
