Job Security The degree to which an employee's position is protected from dismissal or retrenchment. Generally job security is measured by an employer’s provisions to retain staff. Protection of jobs can relate to government policies in some industries, or workplace contracts or agreements regarding tenure. Some job security options include redeployment and retraining arrangements, and transferal to other departments in the workplace. Public sector jobs are usually considered to have high job security because of these provisions, and employment legislation. |
