Finding a job vacancy on the employers site

Did you know that the first place where a vacancy is listed in an organization would be their website? This is why it would always make sense to take a scan regularly your favorite organization(s) websites when you are looking for a job.

.Generally, all you need to do is find the website and the rest would be easy since careers are usually found under a heading of same name, or other obvious headings such as 'Work With Us', 'Vacancies', 'Join Us', 'Human Resources', 'Jobs', 'Opportunities', 'About Us' and so on.
In order to find the website, you will need to do a simple search on the Internet by typing the name of the organization in the search bar of any search engine you prefer (yahoo.com, google.com, ask.com, etc). The organization's website would normally have its name immediately after www of the title.
What happens if you do not find the employment page on the home page? It is very rare that an organization does not have an employment page. Hence, it has to be there somewhere. The best way to 'discover' the hidden treasures is to check out the site map. Almost every home page has somewhere a hyperlink called site map. In case that is not there, then check out the 'About Us' link. Read carefully for leads to get your employment page and/or the site map.

.You could also look for a search bar on the site (which searches the site's pages and database). If you find one, this is where you could type in the related keyword (job, vacancy, employment, etc) and in all likelihood you will find your employment page.
If everything else fails, look up the 'Contact Us' link and take down the phone and fax numbers, email id and other coordinates. Often you will find the CEO's name and coordinates on this page, as well as that of the Human Resource Manager/ Vice President/ Director, etc.
I Found It, Now What?
Once you found it, check out the vacancies listed and the date these have posted. If these have been posted for more than three months, it might be good to check whether the vacancies are still open before applying. Follow the instructions given on how to apply most sites would request for an electronic submission and indicate your desire to be part of that company. If they request for a hard copy application, then do so preferably in person at the earliest possible.
In case you reached the 'Contact Us' page then you try to contact the person who in your opinion is most likely to look into the recruitment and related matters. The CEO very rarely is directly concerned about job applications, hence, send your CVs to the CEOs only when there is absolutely no other way.
