The law of attraction

The Law of Attraction - you draw to yourself anything you think about, focus on, or believe like a magnet.

Change Your Way of Thinking

When you are job searching you must continuously use positive thinking. You must continue believing in yourself even if others do not. Believing in yourself sends both mental and physical signs to the outside world around you. You project an air of confidence, experience and willingness to move ahead. How is this done?

Positive Affirmations

An affirmation is a mental statement to yourself. You make them everyday; 'I look fat', or 'today is going to be a good day'. Using positive affirmations about job searching will help your overall approach to the task. By the use of positive, constructive thinking during the job search you are able to accomplish more relevant goals in a given time. Telling yourself you are ready for the interview will help you to feel at ease and comfortable with the situation; while telling yourself that you dread going will raise tension and nervousness which will show at the interview. The person who is at ease and confident during the interview is more likely to get the job.

Take Action

Having positive thoughts during job searching will do nothing if you do not take physical actions to help these thoughts along. Believing in yourself is only good when you are willing to show others how you do this and why they should believe in you too. Do everything possible to let everyone know that you believe in your job search and are willing to do what is needed to make it happen.

Believe it Until You See It

Believing the job you want doesn't make it happen in a week, or two weeks. No one can tell you when your efforts and positive thoughts will show material gains. Because of this fact, you must simply continue to believe in yourself, your job searching, and your ability to find the right job until it arrives. Positive thinking and job searching are not quick fixes, they take concentrated efforts over time to create positive results.

Post Affirmations where you can see them

How does someone continue positive thinking during a job search when nothing seems to be happening; with the use of positive reinforcement. Here are a few tips which might help:

  • Create a list of goals, affirmations and accomplishments you want to have
  • Place the list, or part of it, everywhere you can see it; the mirrors, the doorways, at the coffee pot, on the refrigerator door.
  • Put your goals and affirmations on your computer monitor as a screen saver
  • Repeat your affirmations to yourself at least three times a day
  • Tell yourself one goal each night before you go to sleep

Follow the bliss

Believing in yourself means not accepting the words of others; this is especially true when someone other than you tells you something is not possible for you. There are two problems with this statement:

  • They are not you. They do not know the true extent of your skills, motivations, and ability - you do.
  • The life you are living is yours, no one else can live it but you.

Job searching should have the end result of getting the job that you want to have. Your job must be satisfying to you and you alone. If there is a career or a type of work you want, do not stop until you get what you want. Positive thinking doesn't follow other people or what they believe is best for you.

What you are seeing in your life is a direct result of what you are thinking and feeling. If you think and feel as if you will fail, then you will fail. If you think and feel that your next job will make the most of your abilities, then it will do that. Believing in yourself is the only way to be sure the job search yields the best results for you.
