What architect training is required?

There are three clear steps in architect training that are generally required for someone to work as an architect. First, a minimum of a four-year bachelor's degree in architectural design must be obtained from a nationally approved architecture school, with one of those years including specialized coursework. Secondly, an architect must be an intern for at least one year under the guidance of an experienced licensed architect. This generally takes place during the final year of courses. Lastly, an architect must become regionally licensed by passing the architect registration exam. These training requirements are for those who have little to no experience in architecture; however, those who do have experience may earn their degree in architecture a little sooner.
