What are the requirements for radiology technician certification?

In order to obtain radiology technician certification, you will first have to attend a radiology technician program. In most cases, this program will be part of the work towards an associate's degree, and it will take approximately 2 years to complete if you attend full time. Once you graduate from school, you may then have to take a state licensing exam. Each state has different requirements for those that will be working as radiology technicians. In addition to taking the state licensing exam, you can get a voluntary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The exam for this is optional, but it will make you a certified technician.
