What is a typical workday for pharmaceutical sales rep jobs?

Pharmaceutical sales rep jobs involve a lot of time spent out in the field. A pharmaceutical sales rep will spend the majority of her day meeting or trying to meet with doctors at medical practices and hospitals. The rep will generally have only a short amount of time to try to convince a doctor to prescribe her company's medicines. The sales rep will spend time planning her appointments and then driving from one medical facility to another. Most of the time, the rep will have to deal with rejection because the doctors are generally very busy. The sales rep has to be resilient and has to spend a lot of time calling on prospects.
