What is required for physical therapist assistant certification?

To obtain physical therapist assistant certification, you will have to go through an accredited physical therapy assistant program. You will have to get an associate's degree, which will take approximately 2 years to complete if you attend full time. Once you complete the program, you will have to take a state licensing exam in most states. Every state has different requirements, and some of them also require you to get in a certain number of hours of field work before you can become certified. Once you graduate with your degree and take the exam, you should be able to start working as a physical therapist assistant.
