If I am laid off, will I lose health insurance?

If you are laid off, health insurance will most likely be one of your biggest issues. Yet once you are laid off, you do not necessarily have to stop using your same group health insurance plan. The government has a program called COBRA that allows you to continue using your health insurance even after you lose your job. With COBRA, you can keep your insurance for as long as 18 months after you lose your job. When you find a new job, you will be able to stop your COBRA coverage and move over to your new plan.
