Title of Post:
First promotion
Promoted From:
Computer Geek
To:
Computer Shop Assistant
Job Description:
Being a kid can be a real problem, when you’re trying to get promoted. I was too young to be considered senior to anyone. I really felt it. It was in a computer shop, my favorite home away from home. I’m a computer nut. I spend as much of my free time on computers as I do at work. Everyone else had been there for a while, but my friends and parents patiently told me I should at least give it a shot. I didn’t think I had a chance, but I did it. The manager said I killed everyone else in the interview. All I did was be myself.

You bring up some important points: one is to be yourself during an interview for best results, another is to not be deterred by possible workplace obstacles. So what if you are the young one? You could be their most valuable asset when it comes to certain information. Everybody has their strengths; I am sure that even though you are young there are still things you know your coworkers will need your assistance with. Keep at it! They would not have hired you if they did not think you could do the job.
